UNICEF had the honour of announcing the newborn's arrival through its Instagram account on Aug. 26. Both Katy and Orlando are UNICEF Goodwill Ambassadors with the nongovernmental organization, which shared a sweet snap of the new parents' hands as they held their baby daughter's tiny little fist in theirs.
"We are floating with love and wonder from the safe and healthy arrival of our daughter," the couple told UNICEF. The two then used the platform to share an important message with fans.

Welcome to the world, Daisy Dove Bloom! We are honoured to introduce Goodwill Ambassadors @KatyPerry and @OrlandoBloom’s new bundle of joy.⠀ ⠀ “We are floating with love and wonder from the safe and healthy arrival of our daughter,” Katy and Orlando told us.⠀ ⠀ “But we know we’re the lucky ones and not everyone can have a birthing experience as peaceful as ours was. Communities around the world are still experiencing a shortage of healthcare workers and every eleven seconds a pregnant woman or newborn dies, mostly from preventable causes. Since COVID-19 many more newborn lives are at risk because of the increased lack of access to water, soap, vaccines and medicines that prevent diseases. As parents to a newborn, this breaks our hearts, as we empathize with struggling parents now more than ever.⠀ ⠀ “As UNICEF Goodwill Ambassadors, we know UNICEF is there, on the ground, doing whatever it takes to make sure every expecting mother has access to a trained health worker and access to quality healthcare. In celebration of the heart we know our daughter already has, we have set up a donation page to celebrate DDB’s arrival. By supporting them, you are supporting a safe start to life and reimagining a healthier world for every child. We hope your ♥️ can bloom with generosity.⠀ ⠀ Gratefully-⠀ ⠀ Katy & Orlando.”⠀ ⠀ Please tap the link in our bio to support the most precious gift: a healthy child.

They went on to encourage fans to donate to UNICEF to celebrate Daisy Dove's arrival instead of sending them gifts. You can head over to UNICEF's Instagram page and click the link in bio to contribute if you're able and would like to do so.
On March 5, the singer announced that she and fiancé Orlando were expecting their first child in the music video for "Never Worn White." The video shows the 35-year-old cradling her baby bump as she wears a gossamer white gown.
The pop star gave fans a clue about her due date.
"Let's just say it's gonna be a jam packed summer..." she teased on social media.
Orlando and Katy also revealed on April 4 that they were expecting a girl!
"I'm excited," the actor said earlier in an interview with Good Morning America. "It's a magical time when an angel pops into the planet, which is what it feels like."
Orlando is also dad to Flynn, 9, his son with his ex-wife, supermodel Miranda Kerr.
Katy and Orlando got engaged in 2019 and are expected to wed sometime this year, although they have had to alter their wedding plans. HELLO! UK reports the couple has postponed their nuptials twice so far in light of things, including the coronavirus pandemic. They had first intended to wed this past winter, then this summer, but had to put it off again.
Their new focus was to deliver a healthy baby.
"Obviously, that will happen in the future, but for now we just want to deliver a healthy child," Katy said on The Howard Stern Show. "And that's what's coming up right now!"
Congratulations, to Katy and Orlando!
