In an interview with People the Canadian couple, whose wedding in July was covered exclusively by HELLO!, spoke about the rules behind their happy marriage. "We don't go more than two weeks without seeing each other," said Avril, 29, while Chad, 38, added "and we don't drink when we're apart. "We don't want to go anywhere that you're asking for trouble," he added. "This is something that we want to cherish and protect." "It sucks!" said Avril. "But when you've got something special, you can't be careless with it." When the happy couple were quizzed on whether they were planning on starting a family Chad revealed that it's just a matter of timing. "We both want [to have children]," he said. "We just need to find a time when we're both at home to get around to it." In the interview Chad also praised his wife's culinary skills, saying that the couple enjoy nothing more than a night in with a home-cooked meal. "I've never had anything of hers that wasn't restaurant worthy," he said. "This girl can cook!" Chad and Avril tied the knot in a gothic-themed ceremony held at a medieval castle close to Cannes in the south of France. "I'm obsessed with castles and I love French décor and Goth," Avril told HELLO! on her speical day. "I found this castle and it was perfect. I also wanted to make sure it was a crazy vacation and an experience of a lifetime for our guests."
