Lamar Odom is on a mission to win back his estranged wife Khloé Kardashian.

The basketball player was served divorce papers by the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star last December, but it now looks like Lamar has plans to restore their four-year marriage. "I want to make it work with Khloé," Lamar told In Touch in an interview in New York. The athlete is currently undergoing physical therapy for a back injury before he returns home to Los Angeles. "I'm going to see Khloé," he added. "I'm going to see her soon."

The former NBA player, 34, has been in Spain for the past couple of months where he was playing for the Baskonia basketball team. Lamar had signed a two-month contract but had to end his season after his injury. "I'm focusing on getting better," he added. Lamar and Khloé's marriage is said to have fallen apart because of the sportsman's reported drug addiction and rumours of his infidelity.

The couple put their seven-bedroom, nine-bathroom home up for sale soon after the divorce proceedings began. The property, which is located in the gated Mulholland Park neighbourhood of Tarzana, Los Angeles, has been snapped up by newlyweds Kaley Cuoco and Ryan Sweeting.

A family insider added that Khloé, 29, was giving her troubled relationship with Lamar another chance, despite warnings from friends and family. "He confessed his feelings and cried his heart out to her on the phone," the source said of the mid-March phone conversation. "She'd been avoiding his texts and calls for weeks, but when she heard him pleading with her to take him back, she melted."

Khloé herself hinted at a change of heart as she posted a telling message on her Instagram page. "I declare that I will live as a healer," said the quote. "I am sensitive to the needs of those around me. I will lift the fallen, restore the broken and encourage the discouraged. "I am full of compassion and kindness. I won't just look for a miracle, I will become someone's miracle by showing God's love and mercy everywhere I go. This is my declaration."
