His smile said it all; Lewis Hamilton proudly posed with Nicole Scherzinger backstage at the London Palladium on Tuesday evening, moments after she had received a standing ovation for her role in the West End show Cats. The couple were joined by the show's creator Andrew Lloyd Webber following Nicole’s appearance as Grisabella the glamour cat. Moments after stepping off stage, the 36-year-old was still in costume for the photographs and wearing her stage makeup and wig.

Former Pussycat Dolls star Nicole wowed the audience with her performance, receiving a standing ovation at the end of the show. An insider confirmed to the Mail Online that she also got "the biggest cheer of the night for her second rendition of Memory". "She looked overcome with emotion at the curtain call. Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber was there and seemed delighted." Other audience members took to Twitter to praise the singer. Nicole had previously said she felt "honoured" to be appearing in the revival of the hit musical. "I am really thrilled to be making my West End debut in such an iconic show," the star said as her role was confirmed. "I grew up listening to Andrew's extraordinary music and was lucky enough a couple of years ago to record Cats' beautiful song Memory. "Andrew's score is breathtaking and I am truly honoured to have been asked to take part in what I know will be a very special time in my career."
