Jim Carrey joins Cathriona White’s family at her funeral in Ireland

Jim Carrey looked solemn as he attended the funeral of ex-girlfriend Cathriona White in Cappawhite, Co Tipperary. The comedian was joined by 30-year-old’s family as they attended a requiem mass at the parish church in the town.The Dumb and Dumber actor arrived in a black Mercedes and was covered by a black umbrella as he went into Our Lady of Fatima church which is situated in the centre of the small Irish village.The Hollywood star was thought to have flown into Ireland on Friday to help with preparations for the funeral. He, however, was not seen on Friday evening as the coffin was carried from the funeral home and then taken to the church ahead of the service, which took place at 11.30am on Saturday morning.

Much of the local community turned out to follow the coffin as it was led by Cathriona’s mother Brigid, stepmother Brid, brother James, sister Lisa, half-sisters Sarah and Larina and stepbrother Tadgh. The family shook hands with many of the mourners who had taken to the streets to remember the Irish native.The make-up artist was discovered unconscious in her Los Angeles home on September 28. In was later announced that she had taken her own life. It is expected that Cathriona will be buried at the family plot in the local cemetery, next to her father Pat, who passed away three years ago after losing a 20 year battle with brain cancer.

Cathriona took her own life in late September

Jim and Cathriona dated on-and-off for three years between 2012 and 2015, although it has been revealed that during this time she married LA cameraman Mark Burton. The star is said to be devastated by the loss of his former girlfriend.In a statement released by the star he said: "She was a truly kind and delicate Irish flower, too sensitive for this soil, to whom loving and being loved was all that sparkled. My heart goes out to her family and friends and everyone that loved and cared for her. We have all been hit with a lightning bolt."
