David Bowie's son Duncan Jones has thanked fans for all their support in the wake of the legend's death. In one of the few times he's tweeted since the Ziggy Stardust singer passed away, Duncan wrote: "Hi all. Just wanted to thank you all for the incredibly kind words and thoughts". He added a cartoon of a thumbs up with the words "Everything is good".

Duncan, a successful BAFTA-winning director, in his own right went on to discuss Warcraft, the video game he adapted into a film.

David Bowie was very proud of his son's success as a film director

His father's death just two days after his 69th birthday and the release of his final album Blackstar came as an unexpected shock to followers around the world who had no idea that their idol was sick.

David's widow supermodel Iman, their longed-for daughter Lexi,15, who was introduced in HELLO!, and 44-year-old Duncan have received an outpouring sympathy in the last few weeks.

Those sending messages of support included Mariah Carey, Rosario Dawson, Zoe Saldana, Mick Jagger, Paul McCartney. Zoe had written to Iman: "We are with you and your family. Your union was an inspiration to us all," adding a quote by poet Khalil Gibran.

Meanwhile, Kate Moss stepped out in full glam rock attire with a T-shirt bearing David's face the day after his death.

A few weeks ago, Duncan also shared a poignant open letter written by an oncologist to his late father. Written after David's death, the letter from Dr Mark Taubert revealed how the star's private 18-month cancer battle helped him to lessen the fears of a dying patient.

Addressing the singer directly, the doctor said: "The fact that your gentle death at home coincided so closely with the release of your album, with its good-bye message, in my mind is unlikely to be coincidence. All of this was very carefully planned, to become a work of death art."
