Lisa Marie Presley's lawyer reveals why she ended her 10 year marriage

hellomagazine.com

Just two days after filing for divorce, Lisa Marie Presley has amended her petition to instead reflect a legal separation, it has been revealed. But that doesn't mean that she has had a change of heart over her split from husband Michael Lockwood; her lawyer has confirmed it's simply due to a legal formality. "They're not trying to work it out and get back together," Ronald Litz told People. "She's done."

It was revealed on Wednesday that Lisa Marie was ending her 10 year marriage to Michael. The star requested full custody of the couple's seven-year-old twin girls Harper Vivienne Ann and Finley Aaron Love, offering music producer Michael monitored supervision.

Asked why the marriage has ended, Mr Litz said it came down to the couple's finances and their two children. "He apparently was in charge of her assets throughout the marriage and didn't do what he should have done on a fiduciary basis," he stated. "He took advantage of her."

As for the issue over their children, Mr Litz said Lisa Marie contends "there are some problems with him being a good father, in terms of what a father is supposed to do". He added: "I absolutely believe that what we're asking for is necessary."

Mr Litz also revealed that the former couple haven't actually spoken about their impending divorce. "She doesn't know what his reaction is going to be to this," the lawyer said, saying that it has been "at least a month" since Michael moved out of the family home.

Lisa Marie has been divorced three times before. She was previously married to Danny Keough – father of her two eldest children, Riley and Ben - Michael Jackson and Nicolas Cage.

"It's tough on her, but she's going to get through it," Mr Litz said of her split from Michael. "There's so much stress and nonsense that goes on during a divorce. But she'll be fine ultimately."
