Drew Barrymore and Will Kopelman finalise divorce after four years of marriage

Drew Barrymore and Will Kopelman's divorce has been finalised less than three weeks after the actress filed the necessary paperwork to dissolve the marriage. The couple, who tied the knot in 2012, announced their separation back in April this year and have remained friendly following the split.

The pair, who share two daughters, Olive, three, and Frankie, two, weren't present at the hearing and the filing was uncontested, meaning that there was no custody or money disputes.

The couple have remained friends following the split

Drew and Will revealed back in April that despite their split they remained on amicable terms. In their joint statement to People they said: "Sadly our family is separating legally, although we do not feel this takes away from us being a family. Divorce might make one feel like a failure, but eventually you start to find grace in the idea that life goes on.

"Our children are our universe, and we look forward to living the rest of our lives with them as the first priority."

A source also revealed to Page Six that the couple were reportedly enjoying a family holiday together as the divorce was finalised, saying: "Drew and Will both wanted the divorce done expeditiously. They didn't want a messy divorce. They are still friends - in fact they are all together in Nantucket right now."

Although the Never Been Kissed star has yet to speak out about the split, she hinted about changes in her life in an interview with Pop Sugar, saying: "I had a really hard time a couple of months ago and kind of knew life was heading in a new direction.

"I called someone that I really trust, respect, and believe in. I said, 'What's your advice?' And he said, 'You put one foot in front of the other.' I hung up the phone and I thought, 'That is why I call this person.'"
