Louis Tomlinson has opened up about being a new dad, telling Mel B that it has been an "incredible" experience while appearing on America's Got Talent as a guest judge.

The 24-year-old chatted to the mother-of-three about his baby son, Freddie, and how much he is enjoying being a dad. He said: "I've just had a baby boy, a son, so that's taken all my time.

Louis said being a dad was "incredible"

"I didn't think I'd be having a kid at this age, but it is incredible."

He also revealed that he would love Freddie to enjoy playing football. "If he wants to, of course. I could coach him! He can do whatever he wants to do. He can try sport and if that doesn't work, do music!" he said.

However, fatherhood has not been without its challenges for the One Direction band member, as he has recently filed for joint custody of his baby son as his time with the six-month-old has been "inconsistent." He opened up about missing Freddie in an interview with Capital FM, saying: "I miss him, obviously, but it's cool. I do get Father's Day now."

The mother of Louis' son, Briana Jungwirth, has also taken to Twitter to criticise Louis' girlfriend Danielle Campbell, tweeting: "You can pretend all you want but you will NEVER be my baby son's mother" after Louis and Danielle were snapped on a day out with little Freddie.

The 23-year-old also defended her right to share photos of her baby son, writing: "To all those who feel the need to make disparaging, hateful and inappropriate comments concerning me and my son Freddie," she wrote. "I am sincerely sorry that you all have chosen to focus your time and attention on my son and the life of my son. Surely you have better things to do than pry into the personal life of a single mum and newborn child.

"I am a proud new mother that is extremely joyous about my child being in this world and have shared that joy with friends and family on a daily basis – often times through social media. However, that does not give anyone the right, or the invitation to be nasty and disparaging towards me."
