In an exclusive interview with HELLO! Canada Editor-in-Chief Alison Eastwood, the dad of three opens up about how he stays in touch with expatriates from Canada and fellow Canucks who've made it big in Hollywood and the music business.

"I was with [Saturday Night Live creator and producer] Lorne Michaels yesterday, and we were actually talking about – no joke – we were talking about the special relationship that we have as Canadians, and that no matter where we go, or how we leave or when leave, we all seem to be, as Canadian as possible under the circumstances," the "Haven't Met You Yet" singer shared on a video call on his way to an appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon in New York City. "And I'll tell you what's even weirder – we all find each other, connect with each other."

Michael's fellow Canadian stars were particularly helpful to him when his son Noah, now 8, was diagnosed with hepatoblastoma, a form of liver cancer, in 2016. Noah went through chemotherapy and radiotherapy and is now cancer-free.

"When I was going through stuff with my kid, they all called," Michael shared. "Seth Rogen used to write me all the time. As a matter of fact, Ryan Reynolds called me two days ago.

"It's weird – even the bands, the musicians... Chad Kroeger, Bieber - I talk to Bieber lots.

"We all kind of stay connected. There's always a soft spot that we all have for each other."

Michael gave a wide-ranging interview to HELLO! Canada, which also touched on his kids' feelings about his now beloved TikTok account, his affinity for Christmas and the holiday season and much more.
