Blake Lively and Rachel Bilson birthdays: 10 things these stars have in common

THEY BOTH LOVE CANADIAN BOYS: Blake married Vancouver-native Ryan Reynolds in a private ceremony in Charleston, South Carolina in September 2012, while Rachel found love with Toronto’s Hayden Christensen on the set of 2008’s 'Jumper.'

THEY ARE BOTH FROM HOLLYWOOD FAMILIES: Acting runs in the family for the Lively brood, with Blake and all four of her siblings actively working onscreen. Her father, Ernie, has been acting since 1975 with roles in 'The Dukes of Hazzard,' 'Murder, She Wrote' and what must be his favourite role, playing Blake’s father in 'The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants' series. Rachel’s father Danny is a successful writer, director and producer, and her grandfather, Bruce Bilson, directed iconic series like 'The Love Boat,' 'Dallas' and 'The Brady Bunch.'

THEY BOTH FOUND SUCCESS OUTSIDE THEIR TV SHOWS: Taking a break from the small screen, Blake received critical acclaim for her performance in 'The Town' (2010) opposite Ben Affleck and later got gritty in the crime-driven drama 'Savages' (2012). After dabbling in feature flicks, Rachel returned to the small screen in 2011, playing a big-city doctor forced to live in small-town Alabama in 'Hart of Dixie,' which debuts its new season in early 2015.

THEY ARE BOTH STYLE SAVVY: Both women are praised for their sartorial prowess and are spotted front and centre at Fashion Weeks around the globe. When it comes to her personal style, Blake tells 'Elle,' “The older I get, I guess I wear less sparkles. And I know that someday my knees are going to look like elephant knees. But for now, my hemlines are still pretty high.” Rachel has always loved fashion, telling 'Nylon' that, “I always had to dress myself. There was this one dress, it was really colourful and big and ridiculous. I wore it until it fell apart,” adding, “I was a very bossy fashionista when I was three.”

THEY BOTH LOVE THEIR HOLLYWOOD FRIENDS: When her wedding plans started to unravel, Blake called on her good friend Martha Stewart to save the day. Rachel’s Rolodex is jam-packed with celeb friends, including Kristen Bell, Jaime King and Rachel Zoe.

THEY BOTH LOVE THEIR FOUR-LEGGED FRIENDS: Blake can be seen strolling the streets of New York with hers and Ryan’s two adorable pooches, a retriever named Baxter and Penny the Maltipoo. Thurman Murman, a mixed breed, is Rachel’s loyal canine that she adopted from an animal shelter in Los Angeles.

THEY BOTH HAVE ENTREPRENEURIAL SPIRITS: Last month, Blake dipped her toe into the e-lifestyle world, launching her multi-purpose website, Preserve. The site “seeks out and celebrates people all over America who are making things — food, clothes, pillows, dishes, dining-room tables — with their hands,” says Blake. Rachel was inspired by her love of shoes to help launch ShoeMint in 2011 with celebrity stylist Nicole Chavez.

THEY BOTH HAVE KARL'S APPROVAL: As the ambassador for Chanel’s Mademoiselle handbag collection, Blake easily won over the brand’s creative director, Karl Lagerfeld, who called the actress, “a kind of American dream girl.” Rachel was Karl’s muse in a series of three vignettes the designer directed for Magnum Ice Cream in 2011. “It was great to work with a tiny, beautiful, doll-shaped person who was clever, witty, and gifted,” recalls Karl.

THEY BOTH CAN'T WAIT TO BE MOMS: After announcing her pregnancy in May, Rachel has been busy shopping for all things baby. Last year, Rachel opened up to 'Cosmopolitan' about her maternal instincts, saying, “I definitely have family on the brain. Having kids is something I want to see in my future.” And just this month, Blake told 'Marie Claire' that, “I gotta get started. If I could spit out a litter of kids, I would.” Should we except a Reynolds-Lively baby announcement soon?
