Fabulous at 50: Linda Evangelista's most memorable career milestones

Mid 1980s: After meeting Chanel king Karl Lagerfeld, Linda quickly became one of his muses. “You can play her like you can play no other instrument,” he has said of his old friend. They reunited in 2012 when Linda worked her magic in front of Karl’s camera for Chanel’s eyewear campaign.

1990: George Michael recruited the January cover girls of 'British Vogue' to star in his music video for hit-single "Freedom." Directed by David Fincher (back before he helmed 'Gone Girl' and 'Fight Club'), Linda was joined by Naomi Campbell, Christy Turlington, Tatjana Patitz and Cindy Crawford.

1996: Linda received high praise from 'Vogue' editor-in-chief Anna Wintour at the VH1 Fashion Awards, where she was presented the Lifetime Achievement Award. “Contrary to her reputation, Linda is a bargain,” said Anna. “In the 10 years that I have worked with her, she has not once told me that she would never get out of bed for less than $10,000 a day. And even if she did,
I would have done everything I could to have come up with the money, because if there was ever a girl that was worth $10,000 a day or even more, she is Linda Evangelista.”
