Jamie Oliver will open Jamie’s Italian restaurant in Toronto in 2015

Fans of celebrity chef Jamie Oliver have reason to celebrate because The Naked Chef is bringing his good food revolution to Canada in 2015!

The health-oriented TV personality shared the news with a tweet: “Guys so excited to announce that our first Jamie’s Italian in #Canada will be opening Spring 2015 in Yorkdale Mall Toronto!”

And Britain-based Jamie won’t be doing this alone – he's joined forces with King Street Food Co., who own popular high-end restaurants Jacobs & Co. Steakhouse and Buca, among others.

In 2011, Jamie took to Instagram to praise Buca executive chef Rob Gentile, writing, “my favourite meal of the year @chefbuca. This Canadian is a humble genius. Such integrity. House curing pickling amazing!” It comes as no surprise, then, that Rob will be at the helm of the 200-seat Yorkdale location come spring.

With 35 locations of Jamie's Italian already operating in the UK and eight internationally, reports claim nine more Canadian locations are expected to follow.
