L'Wren Scott Twitter tributes led by Bianca Jagger, Madonna and Jeanne Beker

Friends and admirers of late fashion designer L’Wren Scott have taken to Twitter to offer up their condolences.

Mick Jagger’s longtime girlfriend was found dead in her Manhattan apartment on Monday, March 17 from an ‘apparent suicide.’ She was 49 years old

Besides dating the The Rolling Stones musician, L’Wren was a celebrated designer and stylist to the stars, who designed costumes for films like Ocean’s Thirteen and Eyes Wide Shut.

A spokesman for Mick, who was touring in Australia at the time, said the singer was “completely shocked and devastated” by the news.

Mick’s first wife, Bianca Jagger, has also spoken out about the loss via Twitter, writing: “Heartbroken to learn of the loss of the lovely and talented L’Wren Scott. My thoughts and prayers are with her family. May she rest in peace.’

Madonna wrote: “This is a horrible and tragic loss. I’m so upset. I loved L’Wren’s work and she was always so generous with me.”

Canadian fashion icon Jeanne Beker has also paid her respects, writing: “And we really thought she had it all. RIP L’Wren Scott. The fashion world is a much darker place today.”

Olivia Wilde posted the following message upon learning the heartbreaking news. “L’Wren Scott was brilliant, elegant, kind, and generous… My heart goes out to her loved ones. What a tragedy.”
