The bride wore shorts: Olivia Palermo shares details on her wedding to Johannes Huebl

It's no surprise that fashion icon Olivia Palermo wowed on her wedding day – and it was all in keeping with her beloved style sensibility, equal parts quirky and preppy.

The City star married her longtime boyfriend, Johannes Huebl, in Bedford, New York this past Saturday (June 28), sporting a lightweight cashmere sweater and an unconventional pair of white shorts with an ethereal skirted tulle overlay by Carolina Herrera.

Olivia’s “something blue” was none other than a luxurious pair of royal blue Manolo Blahnik heels, a favourite pair she's sported many times before – and the same kicks Carrie Bradshaw wore for her civil ceremony in the Sex and the City movie.

Johannes looked equally fetching in his custom Marc Anthony Hamburg suit and shirt - and the groom also had a few blue things, opting for a navy tie and pocket square (by Charvet and Etro, respectively).

A blog post on Olivia’s site revealed the news of the nuptials, noting the couple’s desire for privacy: "The two said their vows amongst only a handful of family members and closest friends as they were surrounded by ivy and blossoming flowers in a quiet park tucked away in Bedford, New York," reports

Olivia elaborates: "We really wanted to keep this beautiful day very private and special to us and enjoyed the whole day with our family and two friends."

Johannes proposed to Olivia in St. Barts in January after the two had been dating for 6 years.
