Like the Met Gala in the spring, the CFDA Awards are a night the fashion crowd anticipates with great excitement.
The industry’s answer to the Oscars, it brings out stylish icons from Alexa Chung to actress Ashley Greene and awards the cream of the fashion crop, from new designers to longtime visionaries.
Alexa opted for a perfectly offbeat yet demure midnight-blue dress by fellow Brit Stella McCartney, with zipper-inspired detailing on the seems and cutout slits top and bottom.
The 30-year-old also rocked a fluffy pink-and-red bag by Shrimps, a quirky piece she’d also been seen wearing during London Fashion Week in September.
Meanwhile, Victoria’s Secret models Alessandra Ambrosio and Karlie Kloss took a night off from training for the lingerie brand’s fast-approaching fashion show, swapping their gym gear for some chic and sleek dresses.
Alessandra looked chic in an all-black ensemble, giving fans a glimpse of her toned figure with a thigh-high slit. She accessorised with a glitzy sequinned black and gold clutch, some strappy black sandals and a matching statement necklace.
Meanwhile, Karlie opted for a monochrome look, teaming a simple and elegant white dress with some black sandals and a patent black clutch bag.
Supermodel Joan Smalls also attended the event, looking the epitome of casual chic in a printed swinging dress, which she paired with some nude, suede peep toe boots.
Designers including Stella McCartney, Diane Von Furstenberg and Zac Posen were also spotted at the event, mingling with guests at the awards ceremony.
