The original Pretty Woman,Julia Roberts, is now the official face of luxury French fashion brand Givenchy. America’s Sweetheart stars in the company’s spring/summer campaign, having been hand-selected for the role by the brand’s lead designer, Riccardo Tisci. The duo met for the first time at the shoot, though the 40-year-old fashion darling has created gowns for the 47-year-old Oscar winner.
“She has the most beautiful smile in the world and I love it, but it’s Julia’s sensibility that interests me,” Riccardo told Yahoo! Style. “For me, the Julia in these pictures is the real one you see every day. They’re really honest portraits of her.”

The black and white pictures show off a more androgynous side of the mother of three, complete with minimal makeup, a boyfriend blazer and black trousers. As Ricardo mentioned, the goal of the campaign was to show off the classic beauty’s “true self,” the way she presents herself in public - clean face, relaxed wardrobe.
He also told Style.com, “I respect her a lot as a beauty and as a woman. She’s a very intelligent girl. And a very funny girl. Super-funny. And very confident of herself, which is very much my woman.”
Other women Riccardo has selected for his campaigns include performance artist Marina Abramovic, French actress Isabelle Huppert and singer Erykah Badu. The current campaign was shot by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggot and styled by Katy England.
Julia shot to fame in the ‘90s with roles in films like Notting Hill, Runaway Bride and Ocean’s Eleven. Over the past few years, she's taken time away from Hollywood to focus on her family. The star's last major film was August: Osage County.
Of her ascension to supermodel status, Julia had this to say to Yahoo! Shine: “My sister and I were actually just on the phone, and we were laughing so hard... She goes, ‘How are you suddenly turned into a supermodel? You’re almost 50.’ It’s funny.”
