If ever there was an A-lister who should be the face of an eco-friendly fashion line, it would be Olivia Wilde. The new mom has been vegan for years, works with humanitarian aid groups like the Fair Foods Campaign and supports Artists for Peace and Justice, an organization that provides education services in Haiti.
Naturally, it made sense that a Swedish retailer well known for its collaborations, H&M, would ask the actress to support their Conscious Exclusive collection.
“Sustainability is one of my biggest passions," Olivia said in press release. "I’m proud to be the face of [this line], a collection which shows the stylishness of sustainability."
The lineup is comprised of pieces produced with sustainable and organic materials like silk, cotton, linen and leather and running the gamut from gowns and tees to pants and pyjamas. According to H&M, the 2015 edition will incorporate patterns and colours from Africa, Asia and India.
“I love the look of this year’s collection. The pieces are full of character in the most beautiful prints, all made from more sustainable materials,” said Ann-Sofie Johansson, H&M’s Head of Design for New Development, in the same press release.
Amber Valleta and Vanessa Paradis were previous ambassadors for H&M's green line and elaborate pieces from the collection have been seen on red carpets on the likes of Sophia Bush, Miranda Kerr and Kate Mara. The collection fronted by Olivia will launch on April 15, 2015.
