One Piece, Two Ways: How to style a jumpsuit

If our Fashion Editor, Ally Dean, has one holiday staple that she's seen rocking around the office, it's a perfectly versatile jumpsuit! The all-season one-piece can be dressed up with a tuxedo blazer or faux-fur topper or dressed down by throwing a simple t-shirt or turtleneck underneath and accenting with a headband or turban.

It's no wonder the easy one-stop outfit is also a favourite of celebrities. Their stylists surely love the many ways they can play with onesies while incorporating trends du jour (think: luxe textures, flats or heels, varying pant lengths).

Naomi Watts attended the premiere of St. Vincent at TIFF this year in a low-slung one-piece number that fit the actress's slender physique to a tee. Side cutouts exposing her toned torso gave the look a sexy edge, and she paired the zipper-lined ensemble with a dazzling necklace featuring a serpent biting its tail and gold platform sandals.

Last year at the Grammy Awards, Beyoncé was in striking contrast to the bevy of gown-laden nominees on the red carpet in a black-and-white Osman jumpsuit, which hugged the music icon's enviable curves.

Across the pond at the British Fashion Awards this year, both Emma Watson and Kendall Jenner slid into white one-pieces - though Kendall's was closely tailored to the model's body, while Emma's called to mind the plunging, palazzo-panted versions popular at Studio 54.

If you're thinking of trying the look on for size this holiday season, we've got two ways to wear it - one for day and one for night.
