“I want to go skydiving,” actress Chloë Grace Moretz told Hello! Canada last year when asked how she planned on ringing in her milestone 18th birthday, “but my mom won’t let me. She’s a nurse practitioner and a very protective mom, so she does not want me jumping out of an airplane.”
Instead, last year’s People's Choice Award winner for Favourite Dramatic Movie Actress is relaxing in Jamaica with friends and family before heading back to work on the crime thriller November Criminals.
Acting in both big and small-screen productions is nothing new for the 18-year-old Atlanta native. She got her first taste of the limelight at the age of five, guest starring in an episode of The Guardian opposite Simon Baker. Since then, she's filmed an additional 28 movies and shows no signs of slowing down. (Who can forget her role as Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s voice of reason in 500 Days of Summer?)
Her turn as a fiercely lethal superhero in 2010’s Kick-Ass showed audiences that she was quickly maturing into one of Hollywood’s leading young talents, and one of her most famous gigs came in 2013 when she stepped into the notorious shoes of Carrie White in the horror flick Carrie.
With acting on lock, Chloë has also cemented herself as a sartorial starlet. She’s a fashion week fixture, a former face of Coach and has graced the covers of InStyle, W, Glamour and FLARE. To celebrate her birthday, Hello! takes a look back at 18 of the gorgeous star’s best red carpet moments.
