If you don’t already know who Tatiana Maslany is, then get thee to your local corner store (or subscribe to Next Issue!) to grab the April edition of Flare. The 29-year-old Regina native is the mag’s cover girl, appearing in three separate stunning portraits shot by Caitlin Cronenberg.

The lead image sees the wide-eyed actress don a retro-looking suede ensemble with statement earrings; in another, her look is decidedly punk. The final photo is over-the-top in its ‘80s-inspired glam.

It would appear taking on the role of cover model is all in a day’s work for the up-and-coming Canadian talent.

She nabbed her second Best Actress trophy at the 2015 Canadian Screen Awards this week, too, and is rumoured to be testing for a role in the new Star Wars series. Did we mention she’s also on our Most Beautiful Canadians list?

Not too shabby for someone who started her acting career post-high school.

Of her hit TV series’ role, she says, “I never want to be one thing. As an actor, I never want to be the girl who was that. Which is why Orphan Black is so exciting. I’m never going to be typecast because I get to play all of these different characters.”

She also shares her perspective on stardom. “I never wanted fame. I’ve never sought it out,” she says. “I struggle with the whole awards idea. It feeds into this thing that I never thought to be a part of or felt a part of. I just want to work with good directors and cool characters.”
