Even while expecting, the Duchess of Cambridge, née Kate Middleton, knows how to dazzle onlookers with her chic and elegant fashion choices. Throughout her pregnancies with Prince George and Princess Charlotte, the 35-year-old royal wore top designers to highlight her growing baby bump, donning her favourite maternity brands while also mixing in some high-end labels for good measure. Now that she has announced she is expecting baby number three, we expect to see Kate slip back into her go-to brands.
Wearing everything from J Brand Jeans for a casual look to Jenny Packham for glamorous engagements, the duchess’ wardrobe grabbed headlines every time she stepped out – especially when she gave onlookers a glimpse of her bun in the oven.
After announcing that she and Prince William were expecting Prince George in 2012, Kate made her pregnant debut in an outfit by Alexander McQueen. She wore another McQueen creation when the couple announced their second pregnancy in 2014.
Then, in December 2012, Kate appeared at the BBC Sports Personality of the Year Awards in a long green Alexander McQueen gown with a thigh-high slit. In October 2014, she also stepped out in a grey dress by the famed designer with a matching fascinator.
While some said that her maternity style the second time around was more daring, Kate stayed true to her favourites, with maternity brand Séraphine being one of her preferred labels.
"Kate looked great in Séraphine during her first pregnancy and continued wearing our dresses for some weeks after the birth," Cecile Reinaud, founder of Seraphine tells Hello!.
In the past, Prince George's stylish mom wore both blue and pink items, leaving royal watchers guessing about the gender of her baby. As we wait to see Kate step out following news of her third pregnancy, Hello! looks at some of the duchess’ favourite maternity brands.
