As one of the most important events on the fashion calendar, the star-studded Met Gala is one of the most exciting and dazzling celebrity soirées of the year. Taking place on May 4 in New York City, this year’s theme – China: Through the Looking Glass – celebrates the Chinese aesthetic and its influence on Western fashion, with A-listers like Blake Lively, Sarah Jessica Parker, Rihanna and Kim Kardashian hitting the red carpet in style.
Oscar-winner Jennifer Lawrence co-hosted this year’s Costume Institute benefit, along with Marissa Meyer, Gong Li and, of course, Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour. The actress stepped out in a sleek Dior gown with floral and bejewelled, cut-out swaths on the bodice and décolletage.
As if the style isn't glamorous enough, filmmaker Andrew Rossi shot the documentary that focuses on the preparation for this year’s exhibition. But don't expect many selfies - they've been banned the second stars leave the red carpet to enter the gala!
Vogue's Grace Coddington showed up in blue floral Chinese-style pyjamas and revealed to The Cut that she's heading straight from cocktails to the airport and colleague Anna suggested she wear something comfy to kill two birds with one stone.
Meanwhile, Sarah Jessica Parker stole the show as per usual in an elaborate Philip Treacy headpiece and H&M gown.
Hello! Canada will be there live from the red carpet, posting behind-the-scenes snaps as a well as a full photo gallery of all the biggest stars as they arrive.
