Justin Bieber has delighted in playing unexpected shows for fans of late, but his most recent surprise took him a lot farther than the Lucky Strike bowling alley - it took him around the world. While the pop star and gal-pal Kendall Jenner were scheduled to appear at a Calvin Klein party in Hong Kong on Thursday (June 11), Justin's pop-up performance was unknown to the swanky event's attendees.
Among other songs, Justin played hits like "Boyfriend" and "The Beauty and a Beat," plus a cover of Ne-Yo's "So Sick" with longtime musical director Dan Kanter by his side on the guitar. Dan, who has travelled the world with Justin and shared all of his food adventures in the process, tweeted that he had "Epic dim sum at Din Tai Fung" with stage manager Scrappy.
Justin and Kendall have both appeared as faces of the iconic denim and underwear brand. Justin shot a racy shirtless campaign with model Lara Stone, while Kendall showed her pared-down beauty with wet-look hair and simple tanks and overalls. And they looked every inch the brand ambassadors on the red carpet - he in a simple white t-shirt, grey button-up and black pants; she in a multi-zip leather mini skirt and grey henley tied at the waist.
Scooter Braun, Justin's manager, tweeted "Yeah @justinbieber is killin it at the #calvinkleinlive event in Hong Kong. Out of no where he took a request and is playing #onetime."
And though the Stratford, Ont. native was in Asia when the CMT Awards happened, he had yet another surprise for fans a the CMT Awards, appearing in a pre-recorded cameo in which he called Luke Bryan "hot stuff" alongside late-night host James Corden.
