The week's best celebrity style: Diane Kruger, Kate Hudson, Nicole Richie and more

By Nicole Carrington

From the red carpet to the streets, Hollywood beauties proved that summer’s scorching temperatures are the perfect canvas for strategic cutouts and dramatic slits . From Kendall Jenner's pair of thigh-high slits to Rachel McAdams's peekaboo stomach, stars beat the heat by showing some extra skin.

Kendall stepped out in support of runway BFF Cara Delevingneat the West Hollywood screening of Paper Towns in a maroon Zimmerman ensemble that featured a high-neck blouse with an exaggerated keyh ole and a coordinated double-slit skirt.

Kate Hudson also took on the keyhole trend in a super sexy black Julien Macdonald gown at the Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation’s 2nd Annual St. Tropez Gala in France. The A-lister smartly paired her frock — which was accented with side cutouts, lace paneling and a sheer overlay — with a black-and-gold minaudière and ankle-strap platforms.

Out to promote her first feature film, fashion darling Cara Delevingne made a stop at Late Night with Seth Meyers in a see-through blouse by Alexander McQueen and high-waisted cigarette trousers . The model-turned-actress toned down the sex appeal with simple Christian Louboutin pumps and a classic old Hollywood-inspired ‘do.

The promo runs continued as Canada’s Rachel McAdams took to the red-carpet premiere of her flick Southpaw in a cheeky off-the-shoulder tea dress by Self Portrait, andcompleted her look with a pair of minimalist sandals and barely-there makeup.

Forever the risk taker, Diane Kruger provided a major shift in gears (we’re talking all out maximalism here!) as she attended a Barney’s event in NYC in top-to-bottom Giambattista Valli. The three-piece look included a black-and-white honeycomb print top, matching flared trousers and a floral cropped bomber .

And that’s only the half of it! Katie Holmes walked the streets of New York in an unexpected look by Zac Posen, while Nicole Richie turned heads in a retro Etro ensemble. Chrissy Teigen also wowed in a vintage-style frock and Gwyneth Paltrow made a surprisingly strong case for the Bermuda short .
