It looks like Meghan Trainor is all about the bass – and Skechers! The multi-talented singer-songwriter has just been announced as the footwear company’s latest brand ambassador.
"I’m very excited to work with Skechers!” the 21-year-old said in a statement. “I’m proud to get behind a company that celebrates style and being true to yourself! The shoes are so comfortable and stylish too. I know my fans will love this campaign.”
The spots featuring the "All About That Bass" singer will appear in magazines and on billboards this fall and through 2017. Meghan joins a long list of A-listers who have sported and supported the label, including Demi Lovato, Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera and Carrie Underwood.
“We couldn’t be more thrilled to partner with Meghan Trainor on a new bright and colourful women’s campaign that will be ‘all about the shoes,’” says Michael Greenberg, president of Skechers. “From her beautiful voice to her fun, carefree image, Meghan is an amazing talent who engages with millions of teens and young women around the globe. A true original, Meghan is a perfect fit for Skechers and our super successful, fashionable and comfortable footwear.”
Originally from Massachusetts, Meghan began performing in front of crowds at the age of 12. By 17 she had self-released three albums and had won several songwriting competitions and signed a deal with Big Yellow Dog Music to write ballads for Hunter Hayes, Rascal Flatts, R5 and Sabrina Carpenter.
The blond beauty rose to superstardom after releasing her first record-label-supported album, Title. Hits like "Lips Are Movin" and "Dear Future Husband" have since gone platinum and her biggest hit, "All About That Bass," debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 in 2014. She’s currently on tour across the U.S., where she's likely rocking more than a few pairs of Skechers!
