When Lady Gaga got engaged to Taylor Kinney, the fashion world rejoiced at the prospect of seeing which wedding dress the eccentric songstress would choose for her big day. And though neither a designer nor a date have been revealed, CR Fashion Book has offered a glimpse of a veiled Gaga in the latest issue.
In a series of photographs shot by acclaimed shutterbug Bruce Weber, Gaga dons both black and white bridal ensembles. The frothy white confection, featuring a white corset with multi-layered sheer polka-dot topper, is paired anchored by white pumps and topped off with a veiled tulle headpiece.
The edgy black getup pairs an Iron Maiden t-shirt with a skirted corset, black ribbon choker, black pumps and a patterned black veil. Mascara runs down both sides of Gaga's face and her hair is in two teased pigtails.
"Legacy and longevity is about having some sort of story and footprint to leave in the world when you die, chasing your talent until you're dead," she tells the publication. "And that, as an artist, you love your art 'til death.
"It's the antithesis of what I was taught growing up, which is that at this age I would have to fight in order to continue to look young, in order to continue to be trendy. When, you know, I never was trendy. I was always anti-trend.'
The shoot is styled by famed fashion editor Carine Roitfeld, who helms the publication, and perfectly fits the issue's 'Classic Eccentric' theme. Lady Gaga has long been known for her over-the-top sense of style and propensity for embodying a variety of characters, much to the delight of her "Little Monsters."
Gaga became engaged to Taylor Kinney in February, when the actor presented his girlfriend with a massive, heart-shaped engagement ring. She revealed that he had first jokingly offered her a ring made of candy. The "Applause" singer can next be seen in American Horror Story: Hotel, in which she'll play a nefarious hotel proprietress.
