As summer slowly comes to a close, there's one undeniably exciting thing to look forward to: fall shopping. With autumn just around the corner, now is the time to start scooping up on-trend items to freshen up our wardrobe. From artisanal pieces to zany patchwork, we've rounded up the most of-the-moment cuts, textures and inspirations to direct your seasonal shop.
The transition commences when we trade our sandals for loafers and menswear-inspired brogues, which should anchor your look this season (when you aren't wearing furry footwear!). We’ll be looking to Lou Doillon, Naomi Watts, Jessica Biel and Carey Mulligan for tips on how to wear these comfortably eye-catching pieces.

From there, inject your closet with uniquely cut clothing. Think jackets with extra-large pockets and oversized sleeves, as well as pants with high waists donned a laBeyoncé and Jessica Alba.

And sometimes you'll want a break from the daily conundrum of what to wear, the solution to which comes in the form of pure ecru or all-grey ensembles (Olivia Palermo for the win!). The season will also be a study in contrasting hues, as neon swoops in to make a statement and international markets inspire a tapestried look.

Lastly, round up a few retro sartorial statements - the '90s are en vogue, but the '70s are the era to wholly embrace. We're finding fall inspiration in styles worn by Emma Stone and Sienna Miller. Other A-listers who are ahead of the autumn fashion curve include Cara Delevingne and Taylor Swift.
