Selena Gomez wasn’t bothered in the least by recent rumours of a romance with friend Cara Delevingne – in fact, she “loved” them! Speculation that the 23-year-old had taken her relationship with the supermodel to the next level was sparked as the two enjoyed a holiday in the French Riviera in July 2014.
However Selena didn’t mind the rumours. “Honestly, I loved it,” Selena told PrideSource. “I didn’t mind it, especially because they weren’t talking about other people in my life for once, which was wonderful.”
The Good For You singer went on to praise the model, confiding: “Honestly, though, she’s incredible and very open and she just makes me open. She’s so fun and she’s just extremely adventurous, and sometimes I just want that in my life, so I didn’t mind it. I loved it.”
Selena also said she thought it was “healthy” to challenge your sexuality, telling the publication: “Oh, I think everyone does, no matter who they are. I do, yeah, of course. Absolutely.
“I think it’s healthy to gain a perspective on who you are deep down, question yourself and challenge yourself; it’s important to do that.”
The former Disney star is no stranger to public scrutiny over everything from her relationship with Justin Bieber to her body image. However she recently admitted that online bullying got to her so much at one point that she decided she needed to take a break.
“I think it’s so hard, now more than ever,” she told Extra. “I’ve had to delete Instagram off my phone for a week and just kind of not get on it, ’cause it is crazy and I couldn’t imagine being 13 and dealing with it.”
However the brunette beauty has channelled her hurt feelings into her new album, Revival.
“I was getting a lot of hate for my body and ‘you’re gaining weight,’ and so I was in Mexico and I was just feeling all of this stuff and I would be lying to you if I said it didn’t kind of hurt my feelings, but I kind of channelled that into my music," she told Extra.
“I felt like everybody was saying so much and I’m like, ‘I need to say something,’" Selena, 23, added. So she put all of it into the lyrics of three songs on her new album, and the titles say it all: Survivors, Kill ’em with Kindness and Rise.
“It’s all geared toward me trying to be heard, and I think this is the best thing that I’ve ever done in my whole career and I’m so excited,” she added.
