The Duchess of Cambridge accessorizes with $4,400 diamond earrings

All eyes were on the Duchess of Cambridge, née Kate Middleton, and her gorgeous diamond earrings as she stepped out for an appearance on Wednesday.

Well-known for her high-low sensibility, Kate opted for a pair of sparklers with this particular outfit, which come with a $4,400 price tag.

Kate showed off her show-stopping jewelry.

They're designed by one of her favourite jewellers, Kiki McDonough, and titled the Lauren Yellow Gold Pavé Diamond Leaf Earrings.

The description reads: "Beautiful and elegantly small, these 18ct yellow gold and pavé

diamond leaf motif drop earrings are from our new Lauren Collection inspired by the British ballerina Lauren Cuthbertson."

The jewelry has a price tag of $4,400.

Kate often sports designs from the British brand, which also designed jewelry for Prince William's late mother, Princess Diana.

Stepping out for her official engagement in London on Wednesday, Kate paired her show-stopping earrings with a $2,000 dress by British designer Matthew Williamson.

Kate, 33, first wore the grey shift, which features neckline and cuff jewel detailing, to an engagement in 2012.

She accessorized it with dark-green suede heels and a matching clutch.

The duchess was stepping out to make a rare public speech focused on the issue of child mental health at the Place2be Headteacher conference in London.

It's been a busy couple of days for Kate, whose outing comes the day after she attended the annual Fostering Excellence Awards, an event hosted by The Fostering Network, a charity dedicated to foster care.

For that important event, Kate had sported a cobalt-blue dress from new Indian designer Saloni, which featured cropped sleeves, a nipped-in waist and a full skirt.

The dress is titled Martine and is currently available on <em></em> for $1,125.
