We’re in full holiday party mode at this most wonderful time of year, which can only mean one thing: getting decked out in silver and gold (we'll be coughing up sequins well into 2016!). Card-carrying members of Hollywood's style set (think Lupita Nyong'o, Julianne Moore and Alexa Chung) are already donning their festive best, rocking gilded cocktail dresses or playing up classic LBDs with red and green accessories.
This week on the red carpet, the always-stylish Lupita Nyong’o opted for a stellar gold-flecked Zac Posen dress for the Star Wars Force 4 Fashion event in New York City. The Oscar-winning actress, 32, who stars in the upcoming The Force Awakens, literally illuminated the red carpet thanks to LED lights embedded in her frock!
Also lighting up the town was Alexa Chung, who elevated her white cocktail dress and black overcoat (both Phillip Lim) with a festive touch, pairing the look with bright red Gianvito Rossi single-strap heels at the FN Achievement Awards 2015 in New York City. The British style icon was presented with the Style Influencer of the Year Award by New York designer Phillip.
Bringing a gilded touch to the 25th Gotham Independent Film Awards in New York, Julianne Moore stole the show in a sequinned Saint Laurent dress – the perfect look for getting noticed under the mistletoe this time year.
Over in Rome, Karl Lagerfeld hosted the Chanel Métiers d'Art 2015-16 show at the storied Cinecitta studios in Rome. A perfect nod to the old Hollywood glamour of the Italian locale, the glittering event saw A-listers Kristen Stewart and Rooney Mara seated front row. Rooney fittingly opted for a delicate ballerina-pink Chanel Couture Spring 2015 creation for the dreamy soiree.
Also topping our list on stylish party-goers this week are Kate Bosworth in a winter-white Simone Rocha party dress, Ruby Rose in head-to-toe red with a touch of sparkle and Zoe Saldana in an artistic Preen creation. And we could never overlook Emmy Rossum's cozy chic turtleneck dress by Salvatore Ferragamo. It's festive style done right this season.
