Hello! Canada staff pick their favourite looks from the 2016 Golden Globes

Ally Dean, Fashion and Beauty Editor, @allyedean:
Jennifer Lawrence: This red hot Dior gown with side panel cut-outs and diamond collar make Jennifer look like a modern day Hitchcockian heroine.
Cate Blanchett: She is one of my all time favourite stars to watch on the red carpet. This year, Cate did not disappoint in a twenties-inspired Givenchy gown complete with tassels and fringe. Sure she looks like she's wearing a piano shall, but she does it flawlessly.
Alicia Vikander: My new found girl crush, Alicia stepped out in a pleated cream pinafore dress by Louis Vuitton. I think we can all agree, no one wears window binds with as much swagger.

Anna Redman, Staff Writer:
Jennifer Lawrence: The neckline is stunning, the colour really suits her and the style is really flattering.
Kirsten Dunst: She just looks sleek and sophisticated
Amy Adams: A lovely colour with just a hint of sparkle and a cut that really flatters her figure.

Saoirse Ronan in Saint Laurent was perfectly elegant, sophisticated and feminine for her Golden Globes debut.
Amber Heard in Gucci is stunning Grecian goddess meets old world Hollywood glamour.
Rosie Huntington-Whiteley in Versace is a golden, statuesque vision.

Sarah Hay: This is how you make your Golden Globe debut. It’s light and airy and so graceful and elegant.
Rosie Huntington-Whiteley: Rosie and Versace are a match made in heaven. I love the cinched waist and break in texture above the knee.
Viola Davis: This Marchesa creation has such an galactic vibe to it and the sheer cape detail is such a pleasant surprise.

Erica Cupido, Staff Writer, @ericaec:
Zendaya: It might not have worked on any actress, but I thought that Zendaya’s wine-coloured Marchesa gown was a fun choice for the young star’s very first time at the Golden Globes.
Sophia Bush: Minimalism for the win! Without frills or embellishment, Sophia black Narciso Rodriguez dress was one that I loved.
Kirsten Dunst: Dark and dramatic isn’t what I expected from the Fargo actress. For keeping me on my toes, I’m including Kirsten in Valentino as one of my favourite looks.

Lady Gaga: We all have to admit that Lady Gaga has come along way from her meat dress days. She now shocks crowds with her stunning silhouette and perfect custom Versace gown. In other words … YASSS.
Julianne Moore: Julianne knows exactly how to dress her stunning porcelain complexion of hers with this Tom Ford dress that has the perfect amount of sparkle and is the perfect shade of blue!
Sarah Hay: A new comer to the red carpet, Sarah pulled off this stunning grey dress which has all the whimsy and elegance worth of a true ballerina.

Jennifer Weatherhead, Social Media Manager, @jennweatherhead:
Alicia Vikander: A white dress can either look plain or verge on a wedding gown vibe … but I loved the column shape, the sleekness with the pleating and the collar? Stunning!
Cate Blanchett: Because she’s Cate, and when has she ever done wrong on the red carpet?
Olivia Wilde: If I were to do head-to-toe sequins, I’d do it in a deep oxblood hue like this!

Rooney Mara: In a floor-sweeping ruffled gown by Alexander McQueen, the Carol star did without accessories and let the dress do all the talking.
Amy Adams: The lady in red looked statuesque in Versace.
Olivia Wilde: The movie and TV star can make glamour look effortless, as she did in this plunging halter dress from Michael Kors Collection.

Sarah Kelsey, Contributor, @sarahkelsey:
Laverne Cox: Classic, simple and elegant; on an evening where plenty of people donned white dresses, she figured out how to ace the style.
Rachel McAdams: Rachel was on her sartorial A-game -- the feminine, architecturally cut dress was perfectly accessorized by a simple red lip and relaxed hairdo.
Kate Winslet: Beautiful colour, beautiful cut -- it highlighted her silhouette perfectly.
