If you looked closely, you could spot the stars and stripes illuminating the red carpet this week. Some of our favourite leading ladies (think Victoria Beckham, Daisy Ridley and Kate Hudson) went for linear and geometric designs as they stepped out at glitzy events and premieres.
The British fashion designer was in Hong Kong to launch her first boutique outside of London, leading a stylish trail of covetable looks in her wake while appearing at public events. Wearing one of her own designs, 41-year-old Victoria was a guest of honour at an amFAR event celebrating her recent charity work. The mom of four donned a ladylike tweed pencil skirt and corset top in a matching plaid print boasting a perfectly frayed hemline to add just the right amount of edge to her polished look.
Picking up the honour for best female newcomer at the Empire Awards in London, Star Wars: The Force Awakens breakout Daisy donned a Boss striped and embroidered midi dress with fringe detailing. It's been a major week for the 23-year-old Brit, who confirmed that she's in talks to take on the role of Lara Croft in the Tomb Raider reboot.
In the name of fashion, Kate Hudson showed her mod side in a monochromatic two-piece suit by August Getty. The Kung Fu Panda 3 star, 36, bared her enviable midriff in a black-and-white bandeau and matching trousers for the Daily Row Fashion Los Angeles Awards. Kate's BFF Nicole Richie hosted the star-studded soiree, which recognized Bella Hadid and Lady Gaga as honorees.
We were also drawn to Naomi Watts, Gal Gadot, Brie Larson and Olivia Palermo donning linear-inspired looks at stylish appearances. Meanwhile, Hilary Swank had a reason to smile other than her adorable striped Tory Burch dress: the Oscar-winning actress announced that she became engaged to her boyfriend, professional tennis coach Ruben Torres.
