Kate recycles outfit from Prince George's christening for garden party

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge joined the Queen for a sunshine-filled garden party at Buckingham Palace on Tuesday (May 24). The event marked Prince William's first appearance at one of his grandmother's famous fêtes, while his wife Kate made a fashionable return to the garden party circuit.

Kate attended the Queen's garden party in the same Alexander McQueen ensemble she wore to Prince George's christening in 2013.

The fancy affair inspired the duchess to pull a very special ensemble from her covetable wardrobe. Royal watchers will recognize Kate's perfectly tailored ivory Alexander McQueen coat and skirt combo and Jane Taylor pillbox hat as the same outfit she wore to Prince George's christening in 2013. She finished off her look with her beloved L.K. Bennett nude pumps.

The Duchess of Cambridge wasn't the only fashionable royal at the garden party. The Queen dazzled in an eye-catching blue coat and matching hat while Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie showed off their unique style in printed dresses. Prince William looked equally sharp in a morning suit and top hat.

Every spring and summer, the Queen invites hundreds of guests to roam the gardens outside of Buckingham Palace. And while getting to see the Royal Family up close is a rare treat in itself, partygoers receive the royal treatment to the tune of 7,000 cups of tea, 20,000 sandwiches and 20,000 slices of cake.
