Though Priyanka Chopra has conquered both Bollywood and Hollywood with her striking beauty and on-camera ease, one of the star's less likely features has been put in the spotlight of late: her armpits. After posing for the cover of Maxim India, who named her the hottest woman in the world, fans were quick to point out that her armpits had been freed of all creases and potential imperfections.
Priyanka responded by making light of the controversy, posting her own arms-up shot on Twitter. She captioned the photo: "Heres another "pit-stopping" picture to add to the debate. #WillTheRealArmpitPleaseStandUp #nofilter #armpitdiaries"

The 33-year-old looks absolutely stunning on the cover of the magazine's June/July issue, clad in a partially sheer black dress with bandeau top and posing with one arm above her head holding up her hair. But her flawless, Barbie-worthy underarm has fans of the Quantico star in a tizzy on Twitter.
"How photoshopped can an armpit get????" asked one commenter, while another said "I wish I was as beautiful as #PriyankaChopra's armpit without Photoshop." After Priyanka’s cheeky response to critics, people were torn between supporting how “hilarious, witty, funny” and “boss” she is and worrying that she’s not taking the issue seriously. “Didn’t like this attitude of urs,” said one disappointed observer.
Priyanka doesn't seem to be letting armpit-gate get her down as she gears up for perhaps her busiest year yet. Her hit ABC series was renewed for a second season and garnered the former Miss World a Teen Choice award nomination and the first People’s Choice award for a South Asian actress. She’ll also star as the villain in 2017’s film adaptation of Baywatch.
In addition to Maxim India's looks-based accolade, she was also named one of TIME's 100 most influential people in 2016, though Priyanka did miss out on one opportunity this year: meeting Prince William and Kate when they visited India. The actress told Hello! that though she loves Kate and thinks she's "so great and so graceful," the timing wasn't right. "I was shooting my show in Montréal at that time and Baywatch in Miami."
