Week’s Best Celebrity Style: Gwyneth Paltrow, Blake Lively, Arizona Muse and more

By Ava Baccari

Sparkles, glitter and gilded accoutrements are a guaranteed way to stand out at any occasion. Just ask celebrities like Gwyneth Paltrow, Blake Lively and Sienna Miller, who all prove that high-shine details makes a winning sartorial impact on the red carpet. Whether it's the subtle sheen of metallic thread or head-to-toe sequins (looking at you, Chanel Iman), light-reflecting details caught our eye this week.

Blake Lively’s parade of winning maternity styles (she is expecting her second child with husband Ryan Reynolds) hit a high when the 28-year-old actress stepped out in a sequined, mermaid-inspired, body-con Versace gown. Painterly swirls of red, white and turquoise sequins cascaded down the dress like waves – a look that would surely garner the approval of her Gossip Girl counterpart Serena van der Woodsen.

Gwyneth Paltrow also got dolled up in head-to-toe shine. The Goop founder donned a Michael Kors Collection dress that gave the (sparkly) illusion of well-paired separates: a studded merino sweater on top with a pleated skirt dripping in silver sequins. Gwyneth rounded out her look with a pair of coordinating strappy sandals.

Always a venerable fashion risk-taker, Sienna Miller stepped up her LBD game in a black dress with sheer long-sleeves and dotted with gold stud detailing. The thigh-high slit and chunky black sandals were the only embellishments needed for this elegant, mega-watt look.

Other stars shone brightly on the red carpet throughout the week, including Hailee Steinfeld (in Rodarte), Arizona Muse (in Michael Kors Collection) and Milla Jovovich (in Prada). Andra Day made a gilded statement all her own and Mia Wasikowska's Roberto Cavalli Couture proves anything that glitters is pure red carpet gold.
