</h3>
<p><strong>Modern Elegance</strong><br>
Kate's fairytale bridal look was the creation of Sarah Burton, successor to the late founder of the label. On the catwalk, Sarah's mentor's signature silhouette of corseted waists and strong shoulders was daring and extravagant, but Sarah's designs have allowed Kate to stand out from the crowd while still maintaining her demure sensibility.</p>
<p>"I loved making the [wedding] dress. We put our hearts into it," she told the Telegraph. "I respect the intimate nature of that lovely project and I respect the friendships that were forged during it."

Princess Charlene of Monaco - Akris
Strong & Stylish
The former Olympian has turned to Swiss label Akris for public events like her engagement party and the 2011 Rose Ball, where she wowed in fuchsia. The strong lines flatter Charlene's statuesque swimmer's physique while quirky touches such as the race-car print she rocked for the Formula 1 appeal to her playful side. "When I design a collection I always think of her," says Akris designer Albert Kriemler.

Queen Letizia of Spain - Felipe Varela
Perfect Professional
For her husband's coronation in 2014, there was only one name in the frame to dress Queen Letizia, but Felipe Varela has been associated with the Spanish consort ever since the early days of her marriage. He instinctively understands how to make the most of Letizia's petite figure in tailored skirts and dresses which reflect the former journalist's vision of herself as a professional woman.

Queen Rania of Jordan - Elie Saab
Style fusion
"I think style can communicate substance," Queen Rania of Jordan once said in an interview. Lebanese designer Elie Saab understands that the Queen wants to beautifully express both her Arab culture and global role, and reflects that in his unique style of lavish hand-created embroideries and red carpet-ready details.

Princess Caroline of Hanover - Chanel
Heritage Remix
Karl Lagerfeld's constant reinvention of the iconic Chanel jacket chimes perfectly with Princess Grace's daughter Princess Caroline of Hanover, who counts the designer as a friend. Like Karl himself, the royal is partial to a uniform... with a twist. "I was growing up in the hippie years and maybe there´s a bit of that lingering on," she revealed in an interview. "You have to have a sense of fun."

Charlotte Casiraghi - Gucci
Youthful Glamour
While Princess Caroline's daughter Charlotte was raised on Chanel, she's made a special place for Gucci in her wardrobe. Former creative directer Frida Giannini designed all the riding clothes worn by the keen amateur show jumper. Thanks in a large part to their shared love of horses and the 'great synergy' Charlotte felt during their collaboration, the royal has even modelled in Gucci ads.

Queen Maxima of the Netherlands & Queen Mathilde of Belgium - Edouard Vermeulen
Bold & Colorful
Close friends Mathilde of Belgium and the Netherlands' Argentinian-born Queen Maxima have taken 'twinning' to a new level when it comes to fashion, even making colour-coordinated appearances together. It was probably Mathilde who introduced her Dutch counterpart to Natan, the label run by Brussels-based maestro Edouard Vermeulen, who confected her wedding dress. The designer told Hello! that when creating the eye-catching outfits favoured by his royal clientele, he always keeps in mind that they have to be "the incarnation of active, elegant women who are very involved in the causes close to their hearts".

Princess Lalla Salma of Morocco
Tradition and elegance
The palace has never revealed the name of her designer, but the wife of Morocco's King Mohammed VI makes an exquisite ambassador for her country in signature show-stopping kaftans, as she did at Duchess Kate's wedding in 2011 (left).

Crown Princess Marie-Chantal of Greece - Valentino
Chic & Feminine
The Italian house has been Marie-Chantal of Greece's label of choice ever since 1995, when Valentino himself created her pearl-encrusted ivory silk wedding dress, which took five months to make at the hands of 25 seamstresses.

Sheikha Mozah of Qatar - Stephane Rolland
Regal Drama
The Qatari royal has a charismatic presence that Stephane Rolland interprets perfectly. One creation, a hand-painted dress, was commissioned with only five days to spare. In fact, staff were still blow drying the design as it left the atelier.

Beatrice Borromeo - Giorgio Armani
Old Hollywood
The wife of Monaco royal Pierre Casiraghi has a blend of smarts, beauty and pedigree that is a natural fit for Armani. Her wedding was a major fashion event, with three out of her five gowns helmed by the Italian designer. For the final reception, Beatrice looked like a Hollywood star, arriving by boat in a silk tulle gown featuring a dramatic train pinned with diamond brooches.
