The official engagement pictures for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were released by Kensington Palace on Thursday (Dec 21) – and all eyes were on Meghan's stunning outfits. Meghan was pictured in one photo in a striking gown by Ralph and Russo, which featured a sheer top half adorned with an abundance of embellished applique, and a full bombastic black ruffle skirt, making for a dramatic look. In a second black-and-white photo released, Meghan was pictured in a white sweater by Victoria Beckham as she gazed into Harry's eyes - who looked smart in a navy and white suit.
The engagement pictures were fashion photographer Alexi Lubomirski earlier in the week at Frogmore House in Windsor. The happy couple announced their happy news on November 27, with their wedding date being confirmed for May 19. For the engagement, Meghan stunned in a white midi-length coat by Canadian designer LINE the Label, which caused the brand's website to crash within minutes of her pictured wearing it, and sales soared so much, that it is now out of stock until next year.
President and Co-Founder of LINE, John Muscat, said in a statement: "We are incredibly honoured that Meghan chose to wear a LINE coat to mark this very special occasion. Meghan has an effortlessly chic sense of style, which we’ve always admired. We know this particular coat is one of her favourite pieces so we have officially decided to name it the 'Meghan.' We are elated for Meghan and wish her a lifetime of happiness with Prince Harry."
Earlier in the week, Meghan attended the Queen's Christmas lunch last week in a stunning lace dress by Self Portrait. The Nightshade Midi design featured guipure lace short-sleeved bodice with black collar. The lace top is fitted to a black A-line skirt with a grosgrain waistband and flows to the calves, and retails for £300 online.
