The Duchess of Cambridge is a bona fide style icon, and the royal is teaming up with fashionable family member Sophie, The Countess of Wessex for a sartorial cause next month. Invitations have been sent out for the February 19 fete celebrating the Commonwealth Fashion Exchange at Buckingham Palace, and according to invites that have surfaced online both Kate and Sophie are set to attend. Both known for their striking yet timeless sensibilities, all eyes will be on the pair's outfits.
Kate - who is expecting her third baby – has had a busy week of engagements, and was last seen on Thursday when she made a surprise outing in London to visit the Amnesty International UK office where a conference on young people's mental health was being held. On Wednesday, meanwhile, she visited the Reach Academy Feltham school in west London. The 36-year-old - who celebrated her birthday on Tuesday – dressed to impress in a navy coat by Hobbs and navy Jimmy Choo high heels. Underneath Kate's beautiful coat she wore the 'Florrie' floral print dress by Seraphine which she wore when she was pregnant with Princess Charlotte in 2015.
Sophie got our attention on Christmas Day when she stepped out with the rest of the royal family in Sandringham to attend church. The mother-of-two wore a vibrant floral dress by Erdem adorned in a botanical print in hues of pink, forest green and deep purple. The ankle-length design featured cropped sleeves and a full skirt, and looked gorgeous teamed with a berry clutch and navy suede heels.
Kate and Sophie's upcoming engagement is just one of the exciting royal events due to take place in the next few weeks. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are set to undertake their third engagement together on 19 January in Cardiff. The pair are due to visit Cardiff Castle and see examples of how national sports charity Street Games is working there.
