Meghan Markle brought a little bit of Canada with her on her and Prince Harry’s first visit to Scotland on Tuesday (Feb. 13). The stunning former actress donned two iconic rings by the jewelry brand Birks to commemorate their second royal engagement of the year, which saw their first stop at Edinburgh Castle.
The royal-to-be – who looked cool and chic in a Burberry tartan coat and loose waves in her hair – wore the Iconic Rose Gold and Diamond Snowflake Ring, stacked with the Iconic Yellow Gold and Diamond Splash Ring for a super trendy accessorized look on the exciting day. The items retail for $4,995 and $1,495 Canadian, respectively.
Eva Hartling, vice president of Birks Brand and chief marketing officer, told HELLO! Canada that she was thrilled to see Meghan wearing the brand's designs, “Her style is modern yet accessible and she always finds ways to make pieces her own. We love how she doubled up her Birks Iconic stackable rings, making them unique to her individual style," she gushed. "We look forward to seeing how she will style them in the future!”
Meghan, 36, has been known from the get-go to break royal fashion traditions – and her admirers are loving it! During their previous royal engagement in Wales, the Los Angeles native wore mismatched earrings. She donned a small stud on her right ear and a shooting star earring on her left, showing off the statement with a relaxed bun.
In terms of style, the Suits alum has yet to wear a dress out for any of her three official royal engagements, typically opting for sophisticated pants or long skirt, paired with simple tops and coats from her gorgeous designer collection.
Another way the activist and fiancée to Prince Harry breaks the mold is by carrying her essentials in hand or crossbody bags. Normally, royal women tend to carry clutches, since shaking hands with their fans – while sharing sweet moments – is not a normal occurrence. While in Scotland, Meghan broke tradition by wearing a lovely forest green Strathberry bag over her shoulder.
