Meghan Markle is totally in love with this purse brand

By Laura Sutcliffe

Meghan Markle's first visit to Scotland was a very fashionable one indeed, and while her patriotic checked Burberry coat was a huge hit, it was her small forest-green purse that stole the show. Strathberry, the handbag brand responsible for the chic bag, is one that Meghan has championed twice in just under three months. Called the East/West Mini, her Edinburgh accessory, retails for $755 and features the brand's iconic bar closure and gold chain strap. The 36-year-old also made headlines by styling the purse across her body over her coat, something royals have never done. While the timeless design is currently sold out due to popular demand (the 'Meghan Effect' strikes again!), it's available for pre-order on Strathberry's website in a number of shades, including this season's hottest hue, mustard.

Meghan first donned the luxury Scottish brand in December, on her very first royal engagement with husband-to-be Prince Harry. The $875 midi tote she chose on that occasion has dual top handles in cream and features navy detail at the back and is currently being sold for almost three times the amount on Ebay. HELLO! spoke exclusively to Strathberry, who revealed the full impact of 'Meghan Effect'...

"After Meghan carried our East/West Mini, we saw sales increase considerably by 300 per cent, however sales were held back by the fact that we were still to fully restock following Meghan last carrying her Strathberry. In the couple of days following Meghan carrying the bag, visitor numbers were up tenfold from the previous days." The brand saw around 1,000 people sign up to the waiting list after the former Suits star visited Edinburgh. Even better, Meghan has created a superb brand awareness: "In addition to Meghan Markle carrying Strathberry bags, we have had a fantastic level of interest in the brand generally, with many other high profile names choosing to carry our styles.",
