While women of the British Royal Family are often spotted donning designer heels, style icons like Princess Diana and Duchess Kate have turned to affordable brands too, especially when comfort is a factor. The mother of three has been well-documented teetering in her trusty nude L.K. Bennett heels or her famous navy blue Jimmy Choos, but she's also a fan of a certain pair of $90 kicks. The Superga 2750 Cotu Classics, which the Duchess of Cambridge wore while attending the London Marathon last year, are easy to find worldwide and look super cute with a summer dress, jeans or even tailored trousers.

It has recently come to light that Kate has actually been following in her late mother-in-law's footsteps, as the late Diana, Princess of Wales, was also a big fan of the brand. In fact, she wore the very same trainers as Kate but in navy blue while on a visit to Angola for a Red Cross mission in 1997.
Diana wore a wonderful outfit for the occasion which consisted of jeans, a matching navy Armani blazer with striking gold buttons and a pastel blue shirt.

This isn't the first time that Kate and Diana's looks have mirrored one another. Prince William's wife wore a striking tanzanite necklace in March when she visited The RCOG in London. The blue stone necklace is a piece from royal jewellers G Collins and Sons, which has been worn by the Duchess on a number of occasions over the years.

It also matches Kate’s engagement ring, which of course once belonged to her late mother-in-law. Diana was also a huge fan of matching diamonds and herself wore a necklace very similar to Kate’s, as well as matching cubic zirconia oval cut stone earrings, which Kate later wore to Wimbledon in 2011 after Prince William gave them to her as a treasured gift.
