Joshua Jackson talks the power of a suit, turning 40, 'The Affair' and Pacey's style

Joshua Jackson knows that giving back isn't a one-way street. "Life has been really good to me," he told Hello! as he kicked off the 9th annual Moores Suit Drive in Toronto, which is open to the public from July 1 to July 31. "One of the joys of a good life is to share it with other people, wether it’s inside of your close group of friends or something like this, which you hope can touch some more lives. It’s a joy and a privilege to have that opportunity in life."

The Vancouver native, who celebrated his milestone 40th birthday this year (with a decidedly Canadian wardrobe as the dress code!), hasn't forgotten the days before his breakout role as Pacey Witter on Dawson's Creek – when first impressions were everything. "It took me a long time to understand and appreciate how much you got to look the part to be the part," he explained. Now, that part is Cole Lockhart on The Affair, which is in its fourth season, not to mention his recently completed broadway debut as James Leeds in Children of a Lesser God, for which he learned sign language.

Before Joshua headed west for a much-deserved summer off, where the sporty Canuck is sure to head to the mountains, we caught up with the star to find out what he's learned in his 40 years, what his mother thought of his stage performance, why shooting in Montauk is ideal and what kind of suit Pacey might wear...
