Meghan Markle's best boatneck looks

As she navigates her new life as British royalty, Meghan Markle is defining herself in her greatest role yet - through everything from her signature, the causes she aligns with and, of course, the way she presents herself. A style icon from the moment she was revealed as Prince Harry's bride-to-be, the Duchess of Sussex is cultivating a fashion sensibility that is chic and minimal while maintaining bits of her inimitable flair. One such element is the bateau neckline, an accent that has quickly become a signature! Here, we've rounded up all of Meghan's best boatneck ensembles...

That's what friends are for! The former actress has her friend Roland Mouret to thank for this stunning grey dress, a new take on the navy Barwick design she wore on the eve of her wedding while checking into Cliveden House for the night. With its long sleeves and flourish of fabric down the front, the design is both demure and fashion-forward. The duchess completed her look with black Paul Andrew pumps and a large Fendi tote, plus $12,000 Snowflake Snowstorm diamond earrings by Birks, when she spent time with the president of Ireland and his wife in Dublin.

Meghan gave this retro silhouette a modern edge at the RAF centenary celebrations thanks to her pinwheel-style Stephen Jones fascinator and neutral suede pumps. And though the full skirt on her custom Dior dress was a departure from Meghan's usual figure-skimming fare, the upper half gave fans flashbacks to her bateau-neck Givenchy wedding gown.

Meghan slipped into an olive-green ensemble by American designer Ralph Lauren for her nephew Prince Louis' christening. The dress featured another of her favourite styles - a waist nipped with a skinny belt - as well as full sleeves and a fitted skirt. The newlywed accessorized with a Stephen Jones hat, Manolo Blahnik pumps, a coordinated clutch and matching gloves.

For a glitzy award night with the Queen and her husband, Prince Harry, Meghan donned a blush-pink suit by Prada that boasted a full skirt, double-breasted short-sleeved jacket, thin belt and bateau neckline. She anchored the chic ensemble with Aquazzura's Deneuve Bow pumps.

Fans were breathless when they got their first glimpse of the new Duchess of Sussex in her bridal look - a timeless, long-sleeved gown featuring a boatneck and A-line skirt by Clare Waight Keller for Givenchy. The simple yet stunning design ensured that the bride would go down in royal fashion history, especially thanks to her embroidered veil and gorgeous Queen Mary's tiara.

Meghan's first boatneck came in the form of a Theory blazer, which she paired with slim black jeans and suede Tabitha Simmons boots for a day of engagements with her husband-to-be in Cardiff. The jacket was particularly meaningful as it was crafted from the Prince of Wales check - a fabric formerly worn by Princess Diana and the Duchess of Cambridge.
