Sirivannavari Nariratana may be the Princess of Thailand, but she is the queen of style. On top of her many royal duties and love of all things badminton and horseback riding, she’s also incredibly dedicated to her personal style and her very own clothing line – and Tatler took notice! The stunning royal joined the likes of Duchess Kate, Meghan Markle and Prince George on the publication’s best-dressed list this year.
A fixture in the front rows of fashion weeks, the 31-year-old made a splash at this summer’s Paris Fashion Week. With looks ranging from a dark Christian Dior ensemble with a modern edge to ultra-feminine floral Giambattista Valli , the brunette beauty has certainly nailed down a spot for herself in the ranks of global style stars.
The designer looks no further than her grandmother, Queen Sikrit , for inspiration, she told Tatler. Her father, King Vajiralongkorn, is also a bit of a fashion icon himself. So while she graduated with a major in fashion design from Bangkok’s Chulalongkorn University, it’s clear that good sartorial sense also runs in Sirivannavari’s family.
She first dipped her toe into a style career as a guest designer at Milan Fashion Week in 2004, debuting her eponymous line, Sirivannavari. Just a few years later, the royal, then a 20-year-old fashion student, was invited by Pierre Balmain to present her collection at Paris Fashion Week. Since then she’s showed numerous collections of her own and trained with the likes of Armani, Ferragamo, Bulgari and Christian Dior. And the princess is no newbie when it comes to gracing the covers of famous fashion magazines, either. In 2018 alone, Sirivannavari was on the cover of Vogue Thailand, Elle Thailand and was featured in Hong Kong Tatler.
