Blake Lively is always one to watch where her wardrobe is concerned, and the 30-year-old has been upping the ante lately in a string of stylish suiting looks that are sure to inspire your fall wardrobe! From neon and velvet to pinstripes and plaid, there's nothing the former Gossip Girl star can't pull off with aplomb - and we're loving every minute!
Ryan Reynolds's wife kicked off her fashion parade in layers of luxe velvet last Friday (Aug. 17). In a sartorial turn that put the statuesque star in a league all her own, Blake headed to a photoshoot in New York clad in a blue sleeveless velvet suit and topped it off with a red velvet blazer. She finished the Brunello Cucinelli look with heavily studded nude pumps and a mini leather duffel, later emerging from Spring Studios sans jacket and signing autographs for fans.
The following day, Blake couldn't be missed in a vibrant green suit by Versace with a matching sweater underneath as she promoted her new film, A Simple Favor, alongside co-stars Anna Kendrick and Henry Golding. The kicker? The ensemble was actually from the Italian label's Spring/Summer 2019 menswear collection! Giving it a feminine twist, she anchored the look with bejewelled pink Christian Louboutin pumps and added pearlescent teal jewelry to the mix.
For a morning of press interviews on Saturday (Aug. 18), the mother of two traded her pants for a leggier look, slipping into a boldly patterned green and purple shorts suit by Bottega Veneta. Green oversized gem studs, silver heeled sandals and a purple bag completed the polished look, which was anything but masculine. Keeping the colour palette similar later that day, Blake turned up in a wide-leg plaid pantsuit by Roland Mouret. She accented the blue, green, pink and yellow creation with a collared shirt and blue tie, a heart-shaped brooch and pink earrings.
And if you thought suiting couldn't get any funkier, Blake flipped the aesthetic on its head once more on Sunday in a resort 2019 look by Zimmermann. A mix of pinstripes, lace and layered pearls, the blonde beauty donned a semi-sheer blouse with lace sleeves under a pin-striped wide-leg halter jumpsuit with pockets and draped a matching blazer over her shoulders. She wore multi-strand pearl bracelets in pink and brown on both wrists and her hair in a chic chignon.
A Simple Favor hails from Bridesmaids director Paul Feig and sees Anna's mommy blogger character trying to get to the bottom of the disappearance of her best friend, Blake's beyond-chic character Emily. In the film, the actress's wardrobe includes a number of suits and tuxedos, so this seems to be a case of life imitating art. Blake also used her life to help mirror her art back in May, when she deleted her Instagram photos and only followed 28 people named Emily Nelson, with the bio "What happened to Emily..."
