The Cambridge family is enjoying some rest and relaxation at the Queen's summer escape in Balmoral, and this means a weekly trip to nearby Crathie for church services. Prince William and Kate left their three children at home on Sunday (Aug. 26) as they joined the 92-year-old in her Bentley for the short trip, and fans were delighted by the stylish royal's surprise outing. The Duchess of Cambridge turned to one of her favourite designers for the chic ensemble, covering her lap with a blue blanket while riding beside the monarch.
Kate's Catherine Walker coat dress is one royal watchers haven't seen before, a tweedy grey number with matching covered buttons and a chic Peter Pan collar. While the piping on the coat appears to be black, it would make more sense if it were navy, according to What Kate Wore, especially since her familiar Lock & Company hat, which she previously donned for a service honouring the RAF Cadets, is dark blue. And the style site also identified the mother of three's striking borrowed baubles as the Queen’s Bahrain Pearl and Diamond Drop earrings.
While on maternity leave, Kate has been enjoying her time away from the spotlight, during which she said she'll give her full attention to Prince George, 5, Princess Charlotte, 3, and infant Prince Louis. The duchess still dazzled at her third child's christening in July, where she wore cream Alexander McQueen once again but this time with a striking, oversized floral headband. She also slipped into two beautiful dresses for Wimbledon in mid-July, a fitted yellow number when she hit the stands with Prince William and a polka-dot creation to sit courtside with her new sister-in-law Meghan Markle.
The 36-year-old and her eldest Prince George even made Tatler's best-dressed list together this summer, and that's not the only fun they've gotten up to. They've gone from the sidelines at a polo match, where Kate looked sweet in a Zara dress, to a vacation over George's birthday in Mustique, where a source told HELLO! that Prince William and his wife attended the same party as Mick Jagger. But during their stay in Balmoral, Kate helped George to mark an exciting milestone: attending his first grouse hunt, where dad Prince William was participating. Royal fans are hoping to spot the stylish family again as they round out their summer at Balmoral Castle!
