Duchess Kate has a fashionable case of the blues on back-to-back engagements

Duchess Kate has had a serious case of the sartorial blues this week as she stepped out on back-to-back days in pretty blue coat dresses. For her engagements in South Yorkshire on Wednesday (Nov. 14) and a visit to the BBC on Thursday (Nov. 15), the mother of three turned to her favourite feminine silhouette, both with long sleeves and pleated skirts, though the hues were slightly different.

Kate joined her husband, Prince William, for a poignant trip to the BBC to learn how the broadcaster has taken up the mantle for the duke's Task Force on the Prevention of Cyberbullying. The duchess turned to one of her go-to designers and royal favourites, Emilia Wickstead, for her pretty teal dress. The design features a square neckline, pleated skirt and long sleeves, and is a royal rewear - she first donned the look while on tour in New Zealand with a matching hat. She anchored the outfit with black suede pumps and topped it off with small gold and diamond Ahoop earrings.

The 36-year-old wore another recycled design on Wednesday while opening McLaren Automotive's new Composites Technology Centre and visiting the Centrepoint hostel in Barnsley. This one a more royal shade of blue, her Eponine London coat dress boasts a belted waist, buttoned-up collar, three-quarter sleeves and structured shoulders, also with a few pleats in the skirt. Kate accessorized with navy suede pumps, a Smythson clutch, her Cartier Ballon Bleu watch and Princess Diana's diamond and sapphire earrings.

The duchess let her locks hand loose by her shoulders both days, though they were blown more straight on Wednesday, likely in preparation for the elaborate updo she wore to Prince Charles' birthday bash that evening at Buckingham Palace. Turning away from the week's blue theme, she was spotted arriving at the gala in a gorgeous pink one-shoulder gown with floral embellishments and one of her favourite pairs of dazzling oversized drop earrings.
