The Duchess of Sussex delighted fans with a surprise outing on Wednesday (Nov. 21) to reunite with women affected by the Grenfell Tower fire that claimed the lives of at least 72 people last year. But today was no somber affair – Meghan was on hand to see the Hubb Community Kitchen’s stunning new facilities, funded by Together: Our Community Cookbook , her first solo charity project. The mother-to-be was dressed to impress for the occasion in a coordinated coat and dress before the foodie rolled up her sleeves to help out in the kitchen.
Greeting Zaheera Sufyaanwith a bright smile and a tight hug – the Duchess Meghan way! – she absolutely dazzled in one of her favourite designers, the Canadian-founded Club Monaco. Wearing a new colour and silhouette, the Suits alum chose the burgundy “Sallyet” dress and a nearly matching coat, the“Daylina.” The best part? They are both still available, and the coat is even on sale in two different colours for $369.
Mixing the more affordable look with some high-fashion booties, Meghan looked no further than her wedding gown designer, Givenchy, for a chic pair. Finishing the look off with black tights, a couple of simple rings (one reads “love,” by designer Meredith Hahn) and a perfectly messy low ponytail, she was ready to throw on some gloves and get to cooking!
As usual, the Los Angeles native wore her heart on her sleeve as she put her passion into this meaningful visit, which follows in the wake of the release of the group’s book, Together: Our Community Cookbook . Filled with delectable dishes, the book was born from the tragedy that these women faced after their community was ravaged by the Grenfell fires last year, and has sold more than 40,000 copies in the United Kingdom, with even more made internationally, according to People. The 37-year-old spent her time at the Hubb Community Kitchen seeing just how impactful the funds raised from the cookbook have been for the women.
