Lady Gaga nails the ultimate homage to Judy Garland in Golden Globes gown

Lady Gaga is well known for her unique red-carpet ensembles, from her epic MTV Video Music Awards meat dress in 2010 to her jaw-dropping look at last year's Met Gala. But perhaps even more special than making a style statement is paying tribute to past stars who've paved the way, and that's just what she did for Judy Garland at the 2019 Golden Globes.

The "Shallow" singer dazzled in blue Valentino, perfectly matching her trademark platinum-blonde locks with a dusting of the pastel hue. The gown boasted a long train and billowing sleeves, which she accessorized with eye-catching diamonds and a pair of platform silver boots.

Despite the look being a winner all on its own, it called to mind the Jean Louis dress Judy wore in A Star Is Born back in 1954. The iconic Hollywood star paired the gown with a darker blue shawl around her shoulders and elbow-length gloves.

The bombshell and double nominee received a nod for her silverscreen debut in the drama film, directed by her co-star and on-screen love interest Bradley Cooper, who plays troubled singer Jackson Maine. She also took home the award for Best Original Song "Shallow," which became her longest-leading number one single on the US Billboard Digital Songs chart.
